Honda Racing Corporation & Marc Marquez part ways

Marc Marquez and Honda Racing Corporation (HRC) have announced that they will end their collaboration after the 2023 MotoGP season. Marquez currently has one more year remaining on his 4-year contract with Honda. The reason cited was mutual agreement. According to the team and Marquez, the split is in the best interests of both the parties.

The split comes after 11 years of working together. In 2011, Marquez rode in the ultimate two wheeler championship under the HRC team at the Austin GP. Not only did he win his debut race, but also went on to become the World Champion later in the season. Marc Marquez was the youngest world champion in the premier class.

In 2014, the young rider successfully defended the title by winning the first 10 consecutive races of the season. Marquez also won the Championships in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2019 with the Repsol Honda Team.

All in all, the No. 93 rider won six MotoGP seasons, five triple crowns, 59 race wins with 101 podiums and 64 pole positions.

What’s next for Marc Marquez?

While it has not yet been confirmed, it is speculated that he might make the move to team Ducati. Since 2019, Marquez has been unable to win as before and also faced some injuries which made him sit out during a significant portion of a couple of seasons.

MotoGP 2023 Season : More Details

For 2023, MotoGP will have even more races and countries than before. There will be a total of 21 races in 2023. The Portuguese GP took place as the Season Opener from 24th to 26th March. The Indian GP is the 14th Race of the season. That said, the Indian GP is not the only new track for 2023. The Kazakhstan GP will also make its debut in 2023. The 2023 season of MotoGP is set to have the highest number of races and participating countries ever. Thus, it will be a season that MotoGP fans can’t afford to miss.

It has now been confirmed that there will be Grand Prix of India in 2024 as well.
