With the safety rules getting stringent in India, Honda has joined other OEMs to upgrade the safety suite in their offerings. The added safety also comes with a price hike which will be effective from today i.e. 1st April 2024.
Honda’s latest offerings the Elevate and the City will now get six airbags, three-point seatbelts for all five passengers, and weight-sensitive seat belt reminders for all seats as standard. The Amaze had already got the six airbags as a standard update a few months earlier. With the addition to the Elevate and the City, all Honda cars in India now get six airbags as standard. This move aligns with the company’s global vision of ensuring zero traffic collision fatalities in Honda cars by 2050.
Honda has also taken this opportunity to update the Amaze line-up. The entry-level Honda offering will now be available only in two trims – S and VX. The hybrid City e:HEV line-up has been trimmed down to a single variant – ZX. Honda explained that this has been done keeping in mind the high customer demand for these variants.
