What’s new in the SP125 Sports Edition?

The Japanese bikemaker is offering this limited edition SP125 in two paint options – Decent Blue Metallic and Heavy Grey Metallic. The Honda SP125 Sports Edition also comes with updated graphics along with a matte muffler cover.

Other features include a digital instrument cluster which relays important information like the gear position and other mileage info to the rider.

Honda SP125 : More Details

Evident from the name, SP125 is a slightly more premium offering than the Shine. This gets a slew of additional tech and features that Shine simply misses out on. In terms of styling too, Honda SP125 is updated for MY2023. It takes on the premium 125cc competing against the likes of TVS Raider and Bajaj Pulsar NS125. SP125 rides on 100-section tyres with updated graphics and more. The main highlight of this 2023 update is its engine. The motor is now BS6 phase II compliant, meeting RDE norms and also meets E20 compatibility (20% ethanol blend).

The Honda SP 125 is positioned in the commuter segment and features 19 new patents. The brand claims that the motorcycle can deliver 16% more mileage as compared to the 125cc HET engine. The Honda SP125 also features LED headlamps, digital instruments console with real-time mileage, average fuel economy, distance to empty, etc. Other features include an engine start/stop switch, Eco Indicator, gear position indicator and premium colour and graphics. The Honda SP125 is available in both disc & drum brake variants.

The Honda SP125 is currently being manufactured at Honda 2Wheelers, Tapukara Production Facility in Rajasthan.

Powertrain of the SP125 Sports Edition

The Honda SP125 is powered by a BS6/Euro5 compliant 124cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine producing 10.7 Hp of power and 10.9 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed gearbox.

The Honda SP125 measures 2020 mm in length, 785 mm in width, 1103 mm in height, 1285mm of the wheelbase, 160 mm in ground clearance, 790 mm for saddle height, 11-litres of fuel tank capacity and 117 kg (Drum Brake) -118 kg (Disc Brake) of weight at the kerb.
