Honda has launched the Dio 125 in India. Available in two variants – Standard and Smart, the scooter is priced at INR 83,400 and INR 91,300 respectively (ex-showroom).

What’s new in the Honda Dio 125?

The Dio gets similar styling as the Dio 110, but includes a bolder design. It gets a V-shaped headlight and indicator cluster up front with DRLs mounted on the handlebar, split-style grab handle, sharp body panels and dual pipe exhaust. The exhaust also comes with a heat shield.

Apart from the design, the scooter also gets graphics and new colour options. Customers can get the scooter in the following seven colour options – Pearl Siren Blue, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Pearl Night Star Black, Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, Mat Axis Gray Metallic, Mat Sangria Red Metallic & Sports Red.

Features of the Honda Dio 125

Coming to the features, the Honda Dio 235 comes with LED headlight, side stand indicator with engine cut-off, idle start/stop system and combined braking system. The Smart variant comes with additional H-Smart tech. This includes smart find, keyless start and other security features.

The Dio 125 Smart benefits from a slew of advanced features. One of which is SmartFind. This allows the rider to locate the scooter by flashing the turn indicators. Then we have SmartUnlock, which allows the rider to unlock the handlebar, fuel filler cap and under-seat storage using the key fob. The scooter also comes equipped with SmartSafe. This disables the keyless functionality and locks the vehicle. Meanwhile, the SmartStart feature allows the rider to start the scooter with a touch of a button. With these new features in place, more customers will now flock to Honda showrooms thus boosting sales.

Powertrain of the Honda Dio 125

The Dio will now come with a 125cc single cylinder engine. This engine is OBD2-compliant and gets eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) technology. Other features on the engine include Honda ACG starter, better tumble flow, friction reduction tech with improved combustion and solenoid valves.

That said, Honda has not released the power figures yet. We know that the Grazia uses a 125cc engine that develops 8.14 BHP and 10.3 Nm of torque. Hence numbers for the Dio 125 are likely to be the same.
