Honda Cars India Limited has been in India since 1995 and is one of the leading car manufacturers in the country. HCIL has now announced that its 2nd generation Amaze has crossed the 1,00,000 sales mark today. The 2nd generation Honda Amaze was launched in mid-May 2018, approximately 13 months ago and this is the fastest 1,00,000 sales record of any new Honda model launched by HCIL in India. HCIL has launched a special ‘Ace Edition’ of the Honda Amaze to commemorate the success of the Amaze model. The Ace Edition Amaze is offered in both petrol and Diesel engines, in the top-spec VX option and offers a sportier appeal to the car and comes in three colours:-
- Radiant Red
- Lunar Silver
- White Orchid Pearl
In its standard avatar the Honda Amaze comes in 4 variants in petrol and diesel options E, S, V and VX available in manual transmission and the S, V and VX models are available in a CVT automatic transmission.
On the interior, the Honda Amaze features a 17.7 cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, built-in turn by turn satellite navigation system, Infrared remote controller, steering mounted controls, additional USB-in, Rear camera with guidelines, etc. The Amaze ‘Ace Edition’ is equipped with an ‘Ace Edition’ emblem, door edge garnish, black door visor, sporty black trunk spoiler, black alloy wheels, front room lamp (ambient light) and seat covers with ‘Ace Edition’ branding.
The Honda Amaze is powered by a
- 1199cc, 4-cylinder, SOHC, iVTEC petrol motor that produces 90 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 110 Nm of torque @ 4800 RPM mated to a 5-speed manual and CVT gearbox
- 1498cc, 4-cylinder, DOHC, iDTEC diesel motor producing 100 PS of power @ 3600 RPM and 200 Nm of torque @ 1750 RPM on the 5-speed manual gearbox and 80 PS of power @ 3600 RPM and 160 Nm of torque @ 1750 RPM on the CVT gearbox.
In terms of safety, the Amaze is equipped with Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) Body Structure, Dual Airbags, ABS, impact sensing door unlock, reverse parking sensors, seat pre-tensioner with load limiter, driver and front passenger seat belt reminder, high-speed alert, door ajar warning lamp, Day/Night IRVM, engine Immobilizer and ISOFIX child seat anchorage system as standard.
