Honda 2Wheelers India, announces the successful completion of the 2021 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt event. Honda has been one of the forerunners in supporting the motorsport enthusiasts in India. IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt is one such event that aims to identify the next generation of riders who want to pursue motorsport as their professional career.
The 2018 event was highly appreciated as it gained massive success by providing the young riders with a platform to develop them for a racing career. Under the guidance of Honda, the young riders will get all the necessary training which will make them competent to take part in all major national and international road racing and endurance championships.
The first round of the 2021 IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt held at Kart Attack in Chennai, saw a total participation of 14 riders from 5 cities namely, Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Coimbatore, Bengaluru and Delhi. Riders of various age groups starting from 9 years old to 17 years old took part in this edition of the event. In fact, breaking all the prejudice, the event also saw a 14-year-old female rider as one of the participants. The event tested the candidates to go through 3 levels of difficulty that determined their physical strength, riding skills and manoeuvrability on the track. The event also included a one-on-one interview with the candidates and their parents so as to understand their aspirations and judge the family support which is one of the most important factors to become the next iconic rider of India.
All the shortlisted candidates in Level 1 will undergo rigorous training to ride on the track in Level 2. From the Level 2 pool of riders, Honda will choose the best talent who will get professional training to make them ready for the Honda India Talent Cup ‘CBR150R’ category in the 2021 season. Honda aims to strengthen the motorsport scene in India and build a world-class platform to make the young riders ready for events like Asian Talent Cup, CEV, Asian Road Racing Championship, MotoGP and more.
