Honda H’Ness CB 350 Vs. Bajaj Dominar 400 Vs. Mahindra Mojo: Specification Comparison

Following the specification comparison between the upcoming Honda H’ness CB 350 and the Jawa Classic and the Benelli Imperiale 400, we now bring to you the specification comparison between the popular Bajaj Dominar 400, the not-so-popular Mahindra Mojo and the upcoming H’ness CB 350. Both the Bajaj Dominar 400 and the Mahindra Mojo come with a water-cooled powertrain and do not really match in the engine displacement department but are closely priced to the Honda H’ness CB 350 which is expected to be priced around the INR 1.90 lakh mark.

Before the new stringent BS6 emission corms kicked-in Bajaj upgraded the Dominar 400 to match with BS6 standards. The Bajaj Dominar 400 is currently priced at INR 1.98 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. A couple of months ago Mahindra’s two-wheeler arm also upgraded the Mojo 300 with a BS6 compliant engine. The Mahindra Mojo which earlier came in two variants now come in a single BS6 ABS trim with a starting price tag of INR 2 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.

The Honda H’ness CB 350 is powered by a 348.36cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled motor with fuel injection technology that produces 20.8 Bhp of power and 30 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed transmission with an Assist/Slipper clutch. To put things into perspective, the Bajaj Dominar 400 is powered by a 373.3cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve triple-spark fuel-injected DOHC engine that produces 40 PS of power and 35 Nm of torque matched to a 6-speed gearbox and a wet multi-plate slipper clutch and the Mahindra Mojo comes with a 294.72cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke 4-valve DOHC fuel-injected petrol motor producing 26.20 PS of power and 28 Nm of torque matched to a constant-mesh 6-speed gearbox.

The Honda CB 350’s air-cooled long-stroke mill does develop a large amount of torque in the bottom revs but cannot match the Dominar’s power output. The Dominar 400 develops nearly double the power. The Dominar 400 also outdoes the Honda H’ness CB 350 but offering a more sporty and advanced mechanical package such as upside-down front forks, multistep adjustable Nitrox gas equipped monoshock on the rear and a larger 320mm diameter front brake rotor. The Mahindra Mojo lags behind in terms of torque but comes with a healthy 26 PS of power output from its smaller engine displacement. The Mojo comes with the conventional front fork suspension but the disc rotors even on the Mojo are superior (320mm) to the Honda’s 310mm front disc.

While the Mahindra Mojo comes only with LED tail lamps, the Bajaj Dominar 400 features full-LCD display, all-LED headlamps, indicator lamps and taillamps. The Honda H’ness CB 350 also comes with all-round LED’s but it also offers semi-digital instruments cluster with Bluetooth connectivity integrated with Honda Smartphone Voice Control System, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) a traction control system, side-stand indicator with engine inhibitor, gear position indicator, battery-charge level indicator, ECO indicator, mileage features such as – real-time mileage, average mileage and distance to empty.

All three motorcycles are quite different from each other but bonded by the similarities in the price tag which is around the INR 2 lakh mark. Which one would you choose?
