Honda hikes diesel car prices by more than 1 lakh rupees

Honda has revised the price list on its entire line-up due to the increase in the input costs. The Honda car range, under the price hike, includes the Amaze, the 5th Generation City, WR-V, and Jazz. The price hike affects both petrol and diesel engine models, but the diesel engine Amaze, and WR-V suffer the most from the price hike.

Honda Amaze and Honda WR-V Diesel Price Hike

The Honda Amaze gets a price hike in the range of approximately INR 77,300 and INR 1.12 lakh on the ex-showroom price. The base variant on the Amaze diesel also becomes dearer by ~INR 98,000 on the ex-showroom price. On the other hand, the WR-V is now dearer by ~INR 91,740 on the SV variant and INR 74,315 on the VX trim.

Honda Amaze, 5th Gen City, WR-V and Jazz

The Honda Amaze petrol models get dearer by approximately INR 9,500 across the grades in the petrol fuel option. The fifth-generation Honda City in both petrol and diesel avatar got a hike of ~INR 16,300. The Honda WR-V petrol model becomes dearer by ~INR 13,800 on the ex-showroom cost. And the Jazz, which is now available with only the petrol engine option, becomes dearer by approximately INR 9,800 on the ex-showroom price. It is important to note that the price hike is calculated examples based on ex-showroom price Delhi. Location-wise the price hike may slightly differ. Also, the 4th generation Honda City ex-showroom prices remain unchanged.

Honda Cars Sales in India

In July 2021, Honda Cars India registered sales of 6,055 units in the domestic market and exported over 918 units. In the corresponding month last year, the brand sold 5,383 units as domestic sales and 282 units as exports. Honda expects that the sales will become even better when the festive season arrives in the near future. The brand is also taking all the necessary steps to safeguard its customers, staff and dealer partners from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in India.
