Honda files patent for Rebel 300 in India, Royal Enfield rival

Written by Parichay Malvankar

Honda has nothing interesting in their motorcycle portfolio as of now. Of course, apart from the expensive superbikes. Seems like the brand is keen on introducing a rival to the likes of Royal Enfield, and have filed a patent for the Rebel 300 cruiser here in our market. Chances are, the Honda Rebel 300 could be revealed to the Indian audience at the Auto Expo next month.

When launched, the Rebel 300 would not only rival the likes of Royal Enfield Bullet 350, Classic 350 & Thunderbird 350; but also fight it out with the Bajaj Dominor and Mahindra Mojo.

The Rebel 300 is powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor. While specs for the India-specific model are not known, Honda is planning to launch the Rebel 300 only once it is heavily localised for a competitive price tag.

With typical cruiser styling, the Rebel 300 has alloy wheels, a digital display on the speedo console, tubeless tyres, dark black theme, front & rear disc brakes and will surely come with ABS.

If Honda manages a price tag around the Bajaj Dominor or the Royal Enfield Classic 350, they might have a winner.
