Honda’s re-entry into the compact SUV segment with the Honda Elevate is a significant move for the company in India. The SUV boasts a strong and massive road presence. Along with an upright old-school SUV design, it sets it apart from other crossover-ish offerings in its segment. With a ground clearance of 220mm, the Honda Elevate is among the highest in its class, promising good off-road capabilities.
Available Trims On Offer
The homologation documents reveal that the Honda Elevate will come in four trim levels – V, SV, VX, and ZX. All trim levels will come with a 1.5L NA petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, for some reason, the CVT gearbox will come with the SV trim. The 1.5L petrol engine generates 89 kW (120 BHP) of power and 145 Nm of torque and complies with the BS6 P2 emission standard.
What is The Honda Elevate Like?
The dimensions of the Honda Elevate measure 4,312 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. Honda maintains a gross vehicle weight of 1,700 kg for CVT variants and 1,650 kg for manual transmission variants across all trim levels.
While the Honda Elevate may lack some of the features offered by competitors. But it aims to make up for it with its commanding road presence and well-put-together interior layout. It comes equipped with Honda’s camera-based Sensing ADAS suite. This will come from mid-level trims onwards, indicating a focus on safety.
Honda Elevate’s Competitive Pricing
The Honda Elevate will most likely carry a highly competitive price tag. Thus providing tough competition to segment leaders like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Deliveries are set to begin in September 2023, and Honda has plans to launch a fully-electric version of the Elevate in the future. Thus, showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainable mobility.
