A facelift model of the fifth-generation Honda CR-V has been spotted testing in camouflage covers outside of India. The test mules were spotted with partial camouflage on the front and rear fascia which leads us to believe that the most significant changes are ought to be in these areas. However, fully camouflaged CR-V models were also doing the testing duties.
The changes on the front are subtle with updated headlight corners and a refreshed grille with a chrome bar that appears larger. Apart from this, the front appears to be the same and no other changes are spotted. The rear also gets a similar treatment and a new refreshed bumper with low hanging trapezoidal exhaust finishers are seen. Again the changes are very subtle and this is all we could see in the spied pictures. As of now, no spy pictures of the interior are available but it is being speculated that the brand is likely to make changes only in the technological department and the SUV is likely to get updated onboard systems with additional features as standard.
In the engine department, the vehicle is expected to remain unchanged and the current Honda CR-V in India is powered by two engine options:-
Petrol
- 2.0-litre 4-cylinder, 16-valve SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 154 PS of power @ 6500 RPM and 189 Nm of torque @ 4300 RPM mated to a CVT gearbox and front-wheel drive.
Diesel
- 1.6-litre 4-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC i-DTEC engine that produces 120 PS of power @ 4000 RPM and 300 Nm of torque @ 2000 RPM mated to a 9-speed automatic and comes with a 2-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive option.
The 2020 model is speculated to get a hybrid powertrain on the CR-V in America and the model was launched in Europe last year. The current Honda CR-V in India is priced starting at INR 28.27 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi and comes in five colour options:-
- Lunar Silver metallic
- Modern Steel Metallic
- Golden Brown Metallic
- Radiant Red
- White Orchid Pearl
