Honda India has revised the pricing of its popular City sedan. The new price hike has been imposed with an immediate effect. It is applicable to select variants only. Read the complete details below.

Honda City price hike details

The latest price hike of the City sedan car comes after the Honda Elevate prices were hiked recently by Rs 20,000. Now, the City has witnessed a price hike of Rs 20,000 on the select variants. These variants are – SV MT, V MT, VX MT, VX CVT, ZX MT, and ZX CVT. With the revised prices, the Honda City now starts from Rs 11.82 lakh and goes up to Rs 16.63 lakh ex-showroom.

The rest of the variants remain unchanged in terms of pricing. Additionally, there are no changes to the car whatsoever. Mind you, City sedan is one of the popular C-segment sedan cars and it competes with the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Hyundai Verna in India. It is equipped with the latest features like an electric sunroof, touchscreen infotainment, digital console, auto AC, leather upholstery, and more.

It is powered by a 1.5L i-Vtec naturally-aspirated petrol engine that makes a peak power of 119.35bhp and 145Nm of peak torque. It is offered with the options of a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission.

Our verdict

The sedan car market in India has been continuously shrinking. However, the City has always found buyers due to its reliable, comfortable, and efficient packaging. The new price hike is not going to affect the sales figures much, as far as we believe.
