Honda Car India has announced that its City Hybrid eHEV model will now be available only in the top-spec ZX variant. This move comes as part of the company’s strategy to streamline its offerings and focus on delivering a premium experience to its customers.
Until recently, the Honda City Hybrid eHEV was available in two trim levels: V and ZX. However, the company has now phased out the V variant, leaving only the ZX variant in the lineup.
The top-spec ZX trim is priced at INR 20.55 lakh (ex-showroom). The new pricing represents an increase of INR 16,100 for solid colors and INR 88,100 for metallic finishes. Despite the price hike, the Honda City Hybrid eHEV continues to offer excellent value with its impressive list of features and superior performance.
The Honda City Hybrid eHEV is powered by a 1.5-litre, single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine, producing 97 bhp maximum power at 6,400 rpm and 127 Nm peak torque at 4,600 rpm. The motor is mated to a continuously variable transmission. The eHEV also gets an electric motor that produces 107 bhp of power and 253 Nm of torque. The City eHEV can do a 0 to 100 sprint in 11.75 secs. It is also rated for a fuel efficiency of 27.1 km.
The Honda City Hybrid ZX variant comes equipped with a host of premium features. These include 7-speed paddle shifters, cruise control, vehicle stability assist (VSA), an antilock braking system (ABS), keyless entry with one-push start, hands-free telephony, and a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display unit.
While it is now easier for customers to choose a variant as there is only one, the premium that they would have to pay is more than INR 1.5 lakh over the base City eHEV.
