Honda introduced the new CB350RS in a global debut in the middle of February 2021. The brand commenced deliveries of the CB350RS in the following month, but soon after the second wave of COVID-19 hit the country. Now that things are slightly back on track we got to test the new CB350RS. In the video review, we talk about the changes compared to the Honda H’ness CB350, which the bike is based on, the ergonomics, design highlights and the exhaust note.
The Honda CB350RS comes in two colour variants – a mono-tone Radiant Red Metallic with the price tag of INR 1,96,344 ex-showroom, Mumbai and a dual-tone Black with Pearl Sports Yellow with the price tag of INR 1,98,344 ex-showroom, Mumbai.
The Honda CB350RS is a scrambler version of the modern-classic H’ness CB350. Both motorcycles are similar in mechanical features. But in the styling department, the Honda CB350RS gets a lot of notable changes. The motorcycle comes with the same finish on the engine and chassis but the exhaust pipe on the CB350RS comes in a black finish and chrome heat plate. The motorcycle also comes with a black bezel on the LED headlamp, new LED indicators in a sleek look and a new redesigned LED taillight.
The motorcycle also comes with new handlebars and mildly rear-set footpegs. The bike also gets a new tuck and roll seat upholstery, new pillion grabrails and a toe-only shifter. The CB350RS comes with rubber boots on the front fork suspension, a chopped front fender and a high mount rear fender. The motorcycle also gets an engine bash plate to protect the engine from stone chips. The bike features black alloy wheels, black finish rear suspension springs, and block pattern wide rubber patch tyres.
Powering the Honda CB350RS is a BS6 emission-compliant 348.36cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. The long-stroke engine comes with a Main shaft coaxial balancer that helps iron out the engine vibrations. The motor produces 20.8 Bhp of power at 5,500 RPM and 30 Nm of torque at 3,000 RPMs. The engine comes with a 5-speed gearbox mated to an assist and slipper clutch and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC).
The Honda CB350RS features a half-duplex cradle frame telescopic front suspension and twin spring-assisted hydraulic rear shock absorbers. The motorcycle comes with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy rims shod in 100/90 front and 150/70 rear dual-sport tyres. Stopping power comes from a 310mm disc brake on the front and a 240mm rear disc brake, equipped with a dual-channel ABS system.
