Honda has launched the new CB Unicorn 160 in India at prices starting from Rs. 69,350 (ex-showroom Delhi). The motorcycle will be available in two variants:
Although dealers are accepting bookings, the bikes are not yet available. After speaking to a dealer in the Mumbai region, we were informed that the bikes are not yet available, and they will contact us once the display models arrive in the showroom.
Test rides also are yet to commence. There is no information about the waiting period as well.
Powering the new CB Unicorn 160 is a new 163cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke motor producing 14.5 BHP of power @ 8,000 RPM and 14.61 Nm of torque @ 6,000 RPM mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Honda claims a fuel efficiency figure of 62 kmpl, and the bike is equipped with the new Honda Eco Technology (HET).
So unless you blindly trust Honda, and want the CB Unicorn 160 and nothing else, you have no other choice but to wait and check the bike out.
Most probably, the bikes should be available by mid-January. The reason for this would be not to manufacture too many 2014-make bikes, which would lead to depreciation within days of purchase / manufacturing.
