Honda CB Unicorn 160 coming next month

Honda’s upcoming CB Unicorn 160 motorcycle is expected to launch sometime in January. The motorcycle was recently caught during a shoot for the TV commercial hinting that the launch is inching closer.

The CB Unicorn 160 is expected to be priced at Rs. 63,695 (ex-showroom Delhi) and on-road price in Delhi should be around Rs. 70,000.

What’s new:

  • Sculpted tank a Honda badge
  • Long & flat commuter centric seats
  • age-old looking grab rail
  • Old school switch gear, kill switch missing probably
  • Small bikini fairing over the headlamp
  • Full digital instrument cluster
  • 6-spoke black alloy wheels
  • Front disc brake only
  • Full chain cover again looks commuter centric
  • Saree guard design is the only good looking part on the motorcycle
  • MRF tyres
  • Fuel cock below the tank confirms that the bike doesn’t get fuel injection
  • Commuter centric footpeg position
  • Horrible looking ‘160’ decal on the rear panel
  • No mention of CBS (Combi Brake System)

Powering the CB Unicorn 160 is a new single-cylinder, air-cooled, 160cc petrol motor producing 14.5 BHP of power.

The bike looks dated already, even before launch. We need to find out a reason why Honda has been making half-hearted attempts in the performance motorcycle department for almost a decade now.

Carrying the Unicorn is a smart move, since the Unicorn brand still manages to outsell the newer CB Trigger and the previous CB Dazzler.

With the launch of the CB Unicorn 160, will Honda discontinue the decade old CB Unicorn?
