Honda’s Amaze has become a popular sighting on the Indian streets, and the new model has managed to clock 50,000 sales mark in 5 months since launch. Honda had introduced the new Amaze in May 2018. As of now, the new Amaze is adding 50% sales volumes for Honda in the period April – September 2018.
This is the fastest Honda car to clock 50,000 sales numbers. Around 20% of the Honda Amaze customers are first-time car buyers. Honda has received 40% sales from Tier 1 cities and 30% sales each from Tier 2 & Tier 3 cities. Around 30% Honda Amaze customers have bought the automatic variants.
Petrol variants of the Honda Amaze come powered by a 1.2L engine producing 90 PS of power @ 6000 RPM and 110 Nm of torque @ 4800 RPM matched to either a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic gearbox. The petrol variant delivers 19.5 kmpl mileage for the MT while 19.0 kmpl mileage for the CVT gearbox.
The diesel variants of the Honda Amaze come with a 1.5L motor producing 100 PS of power and 200 Nm of torque matched to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Surprisingly, the diesel CVT model delivers lesser performance with 80 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque. Mileage figures quoted are 27.4 kmpl for the MT and 23.8 kmpl for the diesel CVT variant.
The Amaze comes with dual front airbags and ABS with EBD as standard across all variants.
