Honda 2Wheelers sold 2,83,045 units in April ’21

Honda closes in April 2021 with total (Domestic+Export) sales of 283,045 units in the Indian market. The brand registers 240,100 two-wheeler sales in the domestic market and 42,945 units in exports. It is important to note that, due to the nationwide lockdown induced by the COVID-19 pandemic domestic sales figure in April 2020, stood NIL.

Made in India Honda in Europe & Japan

But Honda exported 2,630 units last April compared to the 42,945 units this year, crossing the 40,000 marks for the first time in 36 months. The brand is also exporting the Made in India BS6 compliant new SP125 commuter motorcycle to Europe. Furthermore, Honda is also exporting the Made in India BS6 compliant Honda H’ness CB 350 and CB 350 RS to the Japanese market.

Second Wave of COVID-19

Starting 1st May 2021 Honda has temporarily suspended production operations in all four production plants across the country. The brand will continue to cease production till the first fortnight of May (15th May 2021). Honda has production facilities in Haryana, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Gujarat. All the manufacturing facilities have ceased production amidst the 2nd wave of COVID, as the brand prioritises the safety of all its stakeholders. The brand has also announced that it will be controlling the dispatches to its pan-India network, to avoid inventory build-up.

Honda has expanded its BigWing dealership network to three new cities in the Indian market. These cities include Chennai, Hyderabad, Jammu, Lucknow, Tirupur and Alappuzha. The brand has also announced that Honda celebrated the 20 lakh milestone for two-wheeler customers in Rajasthan. The brand also inaugurated a new Honda Exclusive Authorized Dealership (HEAD) in Udaipur, expanding its network in the state. Honda educated more than 1.3 lakh citizens in road safety in April 2021. This takes place through the traffic training park in Hyderabad. In the world of Motorsports, Team Repsol Honda rider Marc Marquez made a comeback after an injury to the right humerus, finishing at 7th place and overall at 14th place.
