Honda 2Wheelers India has registered a very positive response in terms of sales figure for the month of January 2021. The company has reported an 11% jump in domestic sales when compared to the same period last year. The figure for January 2021 stood at 4,16,716 units meanwhile it was 3,74,114 units in January 2020. Honda also witnessed an increase in the export figure with 20,467 units this January, thus the total sales stood at 4,37,183 units as against 4,03,406 units last year which translates to about 8% increase in total sales.
With the lockdown regulations getting more relaxed and the opening of schools, colleges and offices worked as an advantage and thus the sales are on an increasing trend. The new scrappage policy which was announced today in the Union Budget might also compel customers towards buying new vehicles which will, in turn, act as a tailwind for increasing the sales figure.
The key highlight from January 2021 was the launch of two new models, the 2021 Africa Twin Adventure Sports and the Grazia Sports Edition. The Africa Twin Adventure Sports motorcycle is exclusively available only at Honda’s premium BigWing Topline showrooms and Honda has set a sticker price of INR 19.96 lakhs (ex-showroom, pan-India). Customers looking to buy this adventure motorcycle will have two shades to choose from, Darkness Black Metallic and Pearl Glare White Tricolour which is available in the DCT variant. Honda also added new BigWing showrooms in three cities namely, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Ludhiana.
The Grazia Sports Edition has some subtle sporty touches like a new logo, headlamp and position lamp. The gearless scooter will be available in two colours, Pearl Nightstar Black and Sports Red. In other news, the top-selling product from Honda, ‘Activa’ crossed yet another milestone. The Activa is now the only scooter in the Indian two-wheeler industry to have more than 2.5 crore customer base.
