Hero Xtreme 200R & Xtreme 200S price hiked by INR 1,000

Hero MotoCorp has hiked the prices of their 200cc segment motorcycles, the Xtreme 200R and Xtreme 200S by around INR 1,000 on the ex-showroom price. The reason for the hike does not correspond to any changes in the cosmetic features or any mechanical updates and both the bikes remain the same as before.

After the revised pricing, the street naked Xtreme 200R will now be priced at INR 91,900 ex-showroom Delhi and the fully-faired Xtreme 200S will now be priced at INR 99,400. The bikes were earlier priced at INR 90,900 for the Xtreme 200R and INR 98,400 for the Xtreme 200S.

Both motorcycles are powered by the same engine which has a maximum displacement of 199.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, 4-stroke 2-valve, SOHC engine that develops 18.4 PS of power @ 8000 RPM and 17.1 Nm of torque @ 6500 RPM paired to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. 

For mechanical hardware, both the bikes get a Diamond type chassis and ride on a 37mm telescopic hydraulic type with anti-friction bush on the front and a 7 step rider-adjustable monoshock on the rear. The braking comes from a 276mm hydraulically operated disc brake on the front and a 220mm disc on the rear equipped with a single-channel ABS.

The dimensions of the Xtreme 200R is 2062mm in length, 778mm in width and 1072mm in height with a wheelbase of 1338mm while the Xtreme 200S measures 2062mm in length, 778mm in width, and 1106mm in height with a wheelbase of 1337mm. The seat height and ground clearance on both the bikes remain the same at 795mm and 165mm respectively. While the Xtreme 200R weighs in at 148 kg the Xtreme 200S tips the scale at 149 kg but both bikes have the same fuel tank capacity at 12.5-litres.

The Xtreme 200R gets an analogue-digital instrument cluster with an analogue tachometer and a digital multi-information display in blue backlit illumination the Xtreme 200S gets an LCD instrument panel with computer-enabled RideGuide App.

In terms of competition, the Xtreme 200R competes with the likes of the Apache RTR 200 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar range while the Xtreme 200S competes with the Bajaj Pulsar 220F.
