Hero MotoCorp Xtreme 160R Vs. Xtreme 160R 4V – What’s Different?

On June 14th, Hero MotoCorp officially unveiled the Xtreme 160R 4V in India, and bookings for the new model have now commenced. This updated variant brings several notable improvements compared to the two-valve version. If you are considering booking one, here are some key differences between the four-valve and two-valve Xtreme 160R motorcycles that you should know.

Design Changes

While the old and new Xtreme 160R models may appear similar, Hero has made a few changes to the 4V variant. It features a revised LED headlight, a thicker rear seat, and more stylish colour options. The 2024 model is offered in a dual-tone paint scheme called Neon Shooting Star, as well as other choices like Matte Slate Black and Blazing Sports Red.

Mechanical Upgrades

One of the most significant differences lies in the engine configuration and power output. Both models are powered by a 163cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine, but the latest version benefits from a four-valve setup, unlike the two-valve unit found in the 2022 model. As a result, the Xtreme 160R 4V delivers 16.6bhp of power and 14.4Nm of torque, whereas the older bike produces 15bhp and 14Nm. However, the five-speed gearbox from the previous model has been retained.

New Features On Offer

In addition to the LED lighting, the Xtreme 160R now comes with an inverted LCD display. The four-valve model also gains smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. It incorporates various connectivity features such as accident/crash alert, topple alert, panic alert, remote immobilization, geo-fencing, navigation to location, SMS and call alerts, track my vehicle, and more. On the other hand, the 2022 variant lacks smartphone connectivity.

Hardware Updates

Hero has introduced new golden 37mm KYB forks in the latest Xtreme 160R, whereas the previous model utilized telescopic units. However, the monoshock and braking hardware remain unchanged.

Price Variations

The base Xtreme 160R 4V is priced at INR 1,27,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is approximately INR 3,000 higher than the two-valve model. It is available in three variants: dual disc, connected, and double disc premium.
