Hero MotoCorp recently launched the much awaited Xoom 110 scooter. This is a derivative of the Maestro Edge 110, and the scooter is positioned as a sporty alternative to the Maestro Edge series. Let us take a look at the scooter in some depth. Here is a First Ride Review of the sporty scooter. In terms of pricing, the base LX is priced at INR 68,599, the mid-range VX will cost INR 71,799 while the top-end ZX will set you back by INR – 76,699.
Coming to the looks, The Hero Xoom 110 gets a totally revamped design as compared to other scooters from the stable. It gets a stand-out front fascia, an LED projector headlamp and an H-shaped LED DRL to go with it. The rear comes with H-shaped LED tail lights as well. Overall, the looks of the two-wheeler can be described as edgy and aggressive. In terms of colour schemes, there are black, grey and body coloured elements adding to its looks.
Hero has equipped the Xoom with a telescopic fork front suspension. Meanwhile, the rear gets a single shock absorber. The Xoom rides on 12-inch alloys on both ends. The base LX and mid VX get drum brakes while the ZX comes with a front disc brake.
Other features on this scooter include a segment-first Corner Bend Lamps, a fully digital console, phone battery status, smartphone connectivity, real-time fuel economy indicator and phone alerts.
Hero has equipped the Maestro Xoom with a 110.9cc unit. This engine also does duty on the Pleasure + and the Maestro Edge 110. On the Xoom, this engine develops a healthy 8.05 BHP @ 7,250 rpm and 8.7 Nm of peak torque @ 5,750 rpm. That said, by managing to reduce the weight, despite increasing the dimensions, Hero has made this scooter pretty peppy to ride.
