Hero MotoCorp working on Xtreme 440R motorcycle?

Looks like Hero MotoCorp is now planning ahead for larger displacement motorbikes. There is news that Hero is looking to launch a new 440cc motorcycle in 2024. This bike could be called as the Xtreme 440R.

Hero Xtreme 440R : What do we know so far?

Hero wants to compete with brands like Royal Enfield, KTM and Husqvarna. To this effect, the company will launch motorcycles in higher capacity engines. Hence, to get an entry into the competition with the aforementioned brands, Hero is considering the Xtreme 440R.

According to a media report, the Xtreme 440R is likely to have aggressive styling. It is also expected to get premium parts. Further, as part of a customer clinic, this bike was showcased alongside the upcoming Harley-Davidson X440. The Indian bike maker did this to gauge customer feedback and work on any updates if necessary.

Future plans at Hero MotoCorp

Hero is currently working on three projects. These include a 210 cc liquid-cooled engine for the Karizma XMR 210. Another is the 440cc air-cooled engine for the new Harley-Davidson X440. Lastly, a new 420cc motor with liquid cooling is expected to spawn a new line-up of Hero bikes. However, it’s been said that the 420cc project is delayed.

Hero has a good market command in the 100-110cc segment. Hence, after having a robust performance in this segment, the company wants to go ahead and compete in the above 200cc category.

Increasing sales at Hero MotoCorp

Hero is a targeting a strong sales performance in the coming months. Thanks to a pipeline of upcoming launches, the brand expect good sales numbers in the upcoming months as well. Further, Hero has positive customer sentiment going for it. The new launches in the premium segment are expected to bring in customers to the brand that would have otherwise not been associated with Hero.
