Hero MotoCorp will launch 4 new premium motorcycles soon

Written by Kanad Kalasur

Hero MotoCorp is looking to enter the premium motorcycle segment. The bike maker aims to launch not just one, but four new bikes very soon.

Hero’s foray into the premium motorcycle segment

Hero’s premium bikes would be split into two categories – the Core Premium and Upper Premium. Amongst these two, the Core Premium would consist of a fully faired motorcycle along with a streetfighter. The fully faired bike could be the upcoming Karizma XMR.

The Upper Premium range would consist of the Harley-Davidson X440 along with another street fighter.

It was back in October 2020 that Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson revealed their plans for India. Under the partnership, Hero would be manufacturing and retailing bikes under the Harley name. All the service as well as parts would be handled by Hero as well. Now, the first product of the collaboration – the X440 is ready for launch in India.

Separate sales outlet for premium motorcycles

Hero plans to have a different retail channel for its premium range of motorcycles. Just like Maruti Suzuki has the Arena and Nexa outlets, Hero aims to have over 100 such premium showrooms across India within the year.

Hero’s 125cc bike caught testing

A new bike from Hero MotoCorp has been spotted testing. The spy images reveal a few more details about the bike. It seems like a 125cc premium motorcycle that Hero plans to launch in the near future. This bike could rival the TVS Raider. In terms of looks, the test bike appears to have a muscular design approach. Compared to the usual commuter segment bikes in the 125cc segment, the bike appears different. There is a certain heft to the motorcycle.

While exact details are not yet available, the engine is likely to be meshed with a 5-speed gearbox.
