Hero MotoCorp to donate 60 unique motorcycle ambulances to help Covid-19 patients

Hero MotoCorp has announced that the brand will be donating 60 first responder mobile vehicles to the authorities for the COVID-19 affected patients and these ultra utilitarian three-wheeled ambulances can be deployed especially in rural areas to quickly get patients to hospitals from remote areas. 

The unique ambulances have been custom-built and the sidecar can accommodate a patient in sleeping position and it has been equipped with necessary medical equipment such as a first-aid kit, oxygen cylinder, fire extinguisher and a siren. The sidecar accessory can be fitted to any Hero MotoCorp motorcycles with an engine capacity of 150cc and above. 

As part of the brand’s relief initiative towards the COVID-19 pandemic, Hero MotoCorp has committed a corpus of INR 100 Crore out of which INR 50 crores go to the PM Care fund and the other INR 50 crore are being spent on various relief endeavours. Hero MotoCorp has been distributing more than 15,000 meals every day to homeless families, stranded labourers and daily wage workers in several COVID-19 affected areas of Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat. 

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there are 8,988 active COVID-19 cases with 1035 people cured and 339 deaths. The novel CoronaVirus is notoriously infectious and can spread from person to person through small droplets from the nose or mouth which are spread when a person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales. Other people can also contract the virus by simply touching an infected surface this is why it is important to observe social distancing.

Also, it is important to regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water. Use a face mask, avoid touching your face, eyes nose etc., follow good respiratory hygiene such as covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze.

It is also important to regularly monitor yourself for symptoms and get in touch with health care personnel in case you have fever, cough, cold etc.
