Hero MotoCorp stops production at all plants to avoid spread of COVID-19

Hero MotoCorp has announced that the company will be temporarily shutting down operations in the country. The decision to shut down manufacturing is in view of the rise in COVID-19 cases around the country. Apart from halting manufacturing operation across its plants, Hero MotoCorp will also temporarily shut down its Global Parts Center (GPC). The move is in line with the company’s commitment to the safety and welfare of its people.

Maintenance

During this shutdown, the company will be utilizing the downtime for crucial maintenance of manufacturing plants. The brand also reveals that the shutdown will not affect the company’s ability to meet the demand. The local demand in many states is also low due to lockdowns. Therefore it will compensate the production loss during the remainder of the quarter.

Shutdown Dates

Hero MotoCorp has announced that all plants and Global Parts Centre will be closed in a staggered manner. The plants and GPC will be shut from 22nd April 2021 to 1st May 2021, depending on the local scene. All corporate offices are already Working From Home and only limited staff only for the continuity of essential services are attending the offices on a rotation basis.
