Hero MotoCorp Splendor was India’s best-selling 2-wheeler in 2024

The Hero Splendor has achieved the title of the best-selling two-wheeler in India during the 11 months from January to November 2024.

Hero Splendor sales performance in 11 months: 

During these 11 months, Splendor sold 3.3 million bikes, which is a 9 per cent increase with over the 3.06 million units sold in 2023. Sales of the Activa reached 2.39 million, a 17.5 per cent increase over the 2.04 million scooters sold from January to December 2023.

 

Honda also took third place with Shine, which sold 1.74 million motorcycles, a 39.9 per cent increase over 2023’s 1.24 million sales. Bajaj Pulsar came in at number four with 1.32 million units sold, a 12.1 per cent increase over 2023’s 1.18 million units.

With 427,560 units, Bajaj Platina is in ninth place. Sales have decreased by 12.4 per cent from 2023’s 488,345 units. With sales of 419,283 units, up nearly 8 per cent from 388,559 units the previous year, TVS Raider sits in tenth place.

As of December 18, 2024, more than 18.24 million motorbikes, scooters, and mopeds had been sold. In addition, Bajaj Auto introduced Freedom, India’s first CNG motorcycle, that year, while Honda made its electric debut with the Activa e and QC1. Beyond this, the electric industry has seen significant advancements thanks to firms like Ola and Ather.

Hero splendor features:

The motorcycle is available in four different variants: Self-Start with Alloy Wheels, Matt Axis Grey Metallic, Black and Accent, and Self-Start with Alloys and i3S. 

Coming to the engine, a 97.2 cc air-cooled engine unit is equipped to the bike with the Hero’s “XSens technology”. This engine unit generates  7.91 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 8.05 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. A four-speed gearbox is mated to the engine.

Further, it features dual shock absorbers, telescopic forks, and drum brakes on both ends. It has a kerb weight of 112 kg and a 9.8-litre fuel tank.

Hero splendor price:

The starting price for Splendour Plus Self Alloy is INR 74,650 (Ex-showroom). The Splendor Plus Matt Axis Grey Metallic, Splendor Plus Black and Accent Edition, and Splendor Plus Self Alloy i3S are priced at INR 75,859 (Ex-showroom), INR 76,156 (Ex-showroom), and INR 78,573 (Ex-showroom).
