Hero MotoCorp sold 4,69,160 two-wheelers in June 2021

Hero MotoCorp sold more than 4.6 lakh units of motorcycles and scooters in June 2021. In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the company registered a total sales of 10,24,507 motorcycles and scooters. Motorcycles accounted for close to 4,41,536 lakh units of sales in June 2021 against 4,18,141 units for June 2020. The scooter segment registered 27,624 units in June 2021, down from 33,842 units for the same period last year. The domestic sales stood at 4,38,514 units for June 2021, as against 4,30,889 units for June 2020. In terms of international business, Hero MotoCorp exported 30,646 units in June 2021 compared to 21,094 in June 2020.

Demand Expected To Grow Further In the Coming Months

With the gradual easing of the Covid-19 related restrictions, Hero MotoCorp mentioned witnessing a strong rebound for June. And hence to meet the rising demand, the company has also made almost all of its customer touchpoints operational in the country. The upcoming festive season will further boost sales in the coming months.

Key Highlights

The company first resumed single shift production at three plants from May 17. And, then the company resumed operations at all its manufacturing plants across the country from May 24. In an attempt to leverage the growing demand for electric vehicles, Hero MotoCorp has partnered with Gogoro Inc. This joint partnership will bring Gogoro’s industry-leading battery swapping platform to India. Following the growing trend to introduce more and more digital services, Hero MotoCorp has also incorporated a host of customer-centred digital platforms. Hero MotoSports has put on some great results in the April to June period. The team completed the Rally Kazakhstan, with all three riders finishing in the top 10 positions.

Hero MotoCorp XTEC

Recently Hero MotoCorp filed patents for a new XTEC moniker in the Indian market. In the recent past, leaked images revealed that the new XTEC is a digital instruments cluster technology. The brand is planning to update the instruments with connectivity features via an application to enhance the features of the existing Hero MotoCorp motorcycle line-up.
