Hero MotoCorp has released its sales report for March 2022. For the given period the two-wheeler maker sold a total of 4,50,154 units. Motorcycles accounted for 4,25,721 units of sales. Meanwhile, scooters accounted for 24,433 units. For the international market, Hero MotoCorp exported a total of 34,390 units. There has been an increase in sales figures from February 2022 in which the two-wheeler maker dispatched 3,58,254 units. This increase indicates that there has been a gradual recovery in the economy. With pandemic restrictions now getting more lenient, the sales volume will increase further in the coming fiscal year. In terms of previous financial year performance i.e. (April 2021-March 2022), Hero MotoCorp sold 49,44,150 units.
For the given fiscal year, Hero MotoCorp launched two new motorcycles. These are Xtreme 160 R Stealth edition and XPulse 4 Valve. In the scooter segment, Hero MotoCorp launches connected editions for Pleasure XTec, Maestro Edge 125 and Destini 125. Furthermore adding to the list is Hero’s most popular commuter motorcycle, the Glamour XTec. With the Covid situation, everything has shifted online. Hero MotoCorp posted six-fold annual growth in digital sales with 4 per cent retail through digital channels.
With the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country, Hero MotoCorp has unveiled its electric mobility solutions. Under the brand name Vida, Hero MotoCorp will sell its electric vehicles. The company has already announced a US$100 Million Global Sustainability Fund to nurture more than 10,000 entrepreneurs on ESG solutions. Hero MotoCorp has confirmed that it will roll out its first-ever EV from the Chittoor plant on July 1, 2022. To ensure a robust charging infrastructure, Hero MotoCorp has announced its collaboration with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. Moreover, Hero MotoCorp has also Partnered with Gogoro Inc to establish a battery swapping joint venture and bring Gogoro’s battery swapping platform to India.
Hero MotoSports Team Rally registered their best ever Dakar Rally 2022. HMS Team Rally rider Joaquim Rodriguez won stage 3 of the rally. Furthermore, Hero MotoSport also Registered a stage win at the Abu Dhabi desert challenge 2022. Further strengthening its tie-up with Harley Davidson, the motorcycle maker launched the Sportster S at India Bike Week 2021.
