Hero MotoCorp plans to launch new Xtreme 440 in India?

Hero MotoCorp has been working on a larger version of the XPulse which was recently spotted testing. Now, alongside, a new motorcycle was spotted which could be a larger Xtreme naked roadster.

Here Xtreme 440 : More Details

As the XPulse spotted alongside the new motorcycle has the updated 210cc engine, it is likely that the Xtreme could use this. However, a closer inspection around the engine area of the new bike reveals something else entirely. Hero is planning to not use the Karizma XMR sourced 210cc unit but a larger 440cc engine which appears to have a crankcase similar to the Harley-davidson X440.

This means, earlier media reports regarding Hero working on a X440-platform based motorcycle were accurate.

The test mule is heavily camouflaged, but some details of the bike are noticeable. This includes a low mounted headlamp, meaty body panels and its suspension setup. The front gets upside-down forks while the rear gets a monoshock.

Powertrain of the Hero Xtreme 440

While it is not yet known, the Hero Xtreme 440 could use the same engine from the Harley-Davidson X440. This 440cc air and oil cooled unit has a single cylinder configuration. The power output of this is 27 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 38 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.
That said, as both the bikes are catering to different segments, Hero is likely to retune the engine for its application in the Xtreme 440.

Hero is also planning to launch this bike sometime next year. Media reports indicate a launch timeline of March 2024. While there is no word yet on the pricing of this upcoming bike, we can estimate it to be someone around the INR 2,00,000 mark.

Hero Xpulse 210 : More Details

Hero MotoCorp has already started working on the next-generation of the XPulse Adv bike. The company is currently developing the new XPulse 210, which can be expected to hit the showrooms sometime in 2024.

In terms of looks, the XPulse 210 appears to be very similar to the existing model. However, the bike maker could update the bike to look different when it comes to a production-ready version. To keep costs under control, Hero could also use the existing XPulse frame along with a 210cc engine. The XPulse has become a very popular offering from Hero MotoCorp.
