Reports suggest that the brand is planning to develop a new performance electric motorcycle to strengthen its electric portfolio. In addition to this, the brand will also be expanding the Vida electric scooter line-up with new models. Media reports suggest that two new electric scooters are likely to debut in the next financial year. Furthermore, the brand also plans to introduce a new electric scooter with B2B customers in mind.
Hero MotoCorp plans to bring two new models expanding the Vida electric scooter portfolio. The brand is likely to bring an economically priced and a mid-priced model in the Vida scooter range. This will further boost sales of the Vida range of scooters. In addition to this, Hero MotoCorp also plans to expand the Vida retail presence across the country.
Currently, the Vida retail presence is in 100 cities across India. The brand plans to add a 100 more retail sites in the next year. Furthermore, Hero MotoCorp is also likely to foray its electric business into the B2B segment. For this, a dedicated last-mile delivery electric scooter is likely to make its debut by 2024-2025.
According to sources, Hero MotoCorp is likely to introduce a new electric motorcycle in 2 to 3 years. This is likely to be the fruit of Hero MotoCorp’s partnership with Zero Motorcycles, a California-based electric motorcycle manufacturer. However, the electric motorcycle is not likely to be your daily commuter. Reports suggest that the electric motorcycle is likely to be a performance bike equivalent to the 450cc segment. It’s not going to be cheap either. The electric motorcycle is likely to be in the INR 4 to INR 5 lakh price range.
