Hero MotoCorp has announced that the brand will be revealing the new Mavrick 440 on 23 January 2024. The new motorcycle is likely to be based on the Harley-Davidson X440 motorcycle. While speculations are that the Mavrick will use the same engine and chassis as the Harley-Davidson X440, the suspension is likely to be in a different state of tune.
The Hero Mavrick 440 is likely to be the result of Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson’s collaboration. In 2020, the American manufacturer shut the Bawal manufacturing facility in India. Later the brand partnered with Hero MotoCorp to develop and manufacture small capacity motorcycles in India. Now, after the success of the Harley-Davidson X440 which was co-developed with Hero MotoCorp, the brand now plans to introduce a Hero badged motorcycle based on the same platform.
Currently, Hero MotoCorp has not revealed any details of the Mavrick 440, except its launch date. However, recent spy shots of the upcoming bike revealed that the Mavrick 440 is likely to comes with a roadster design similar to the X440. But, Hero is likely to offer a right-side up front suspension on the motorcycle instead of a USD units as seen on the X440.
Expect subtle changes to the headlight design, new mirrors as well as the tank. In addition to this, the rider’s triangle is also likely to be more relaxed but using a different handlebar and footage setup. Hero is also likely to use a different instruments cluster compared to the Harley-Davidson X440. However, details about the bike are still scarce.
The Hero Mavrick 440 is likely to come with the same engine as the Harley-Davidson X440. Powering the Harley-Davidson X440 is a 440cc single cylinder engine. The engine makes 27 PS of power and 38 Nm of torque and comes with a 6-speed transmission. The Harley-Davidson X440 comes with a starting price tag of INR 2.39 lakh ex-showroom. Hero is likely to price the Mavrick in this range.
