Hero MotoCorp has launched the Xpulse 200 4V Pro Dakar Edition in India, priced at INR 1.67 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This special edition celebrates Hero MotoCorp’s impressive performance at the 2024 Dakar Rally, where their rider Ross Branch secured a second-place finish.
The Dakar Edition features a unique Dakar-inspired livery, with graphics depicting a bike dune bashing and location coordinates on the fuel tank. The bike also sports a Dakar logo on the tank, making it stand out from the standard Xpulse 200 4V Pro.
Mechanically, the Dakar Edition remains identical to the Pro variant. It is powered by a 199.6cc single-cylinder air and oil-cooled engine, producing 18.9 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 17.35 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The bike features adjustable telescopic front suspension with 250mm travel and a rear adjustable mono-shock with 220mm travel. It also boasts a high seat height of 885mm and handlebar risers for a comfortable riding stance.
The motorcycle comes with switchable ABS offering three modes: Road, Off-road, and Rally. It also includes a rally-style windshield, closed-loop knuckle guards, and a USB charger. The bike rides on wire-spoked wheels with dual-purpose tyres and features disc brakes at both ends.
Hero MotoCorp’s decision to launch the Dakar Edition is a strategic move to capitalize on the excitement around the Dakar Rally. The company aims to attract adventure enthusiasts who are looking for a rugged and capable bike. With bookings starting on December 18, 2024, the Xpulse Dakar Edition is expected to be a hit among off-road enthusiasts.
