Hero MotoCorp has launched the latest edition of the iconic Super Splendor in India. Known as the Canvas Black Edition, it continues with the same strong traits of the Super Splendor but in a new avatar. Hero also boasts the Super Splendor offers the best-in-class mileage. The new Hero MotoCorp Super Splendor Canvas Black Edition will be available at all Hero dealerships in India from today.
The Canvas Black Edition will come in two variants – Drum self-cast and Disc self-cast. The former will retail at INR 77,430 ex-showroom, while the disc variant will cost INR 81,330 ex-showroom. Both the variants will also come standard with a 5-year warranty. Thus, also reiterating the brand’s trust and reliability.
As the name suggests, Hero made this edition as an open canvas. The bike sports no graphics whatsoever except for stickers for its name and brand logos. Hero says this enables customers to express their individual styles through custom graphics. For the Canvas Black Edition, Hero has also added a new Digi Analogue Cluster, an integrated USB charger and a side-stand engine cut-off. Apart from these changes, the model remains mechanically the same.
Powering the new Super Splendor Canvas is a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder motor. It has a peak output of 10.7 BHP at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque output of 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine also gets a programmed fuel injection system. There is also a new 5-speed gearbox with a wet multi-plate clutch. Hero claims it offers 13 per cent better fuel efficiency. According to the company, it will deliver up to 68 kmpl.
The front of the bike uses telescopic hydraulic forks, and the rear uses twin 5-step adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers. The model is available in a drum brake as well as a disc brake variant. Furthermore, the disc brake variant also gets Combi Braking System (CBS) for better safety.
