Hero MotoCorp HF100 launched at INR 49,400

Hero MotoCorp has launched a new motorcycle in the commuter segment, the Hero MotoCorp HF100. The Hero MotoCorp HF100 comes with a price tag of just INR 49,400 ex-showroom. This makes the Hero HF100 the most affordable motorcycle in the brand’s portfolio in the Indian market. The HF100 is based on the HF Deluxe but come with cost-cutting features and a single Black/Red colour option. However, both motorcycles share the underpinning and the powertrain.

Hero HF100 Engine Specifications

The Hero MotoCorp HF100 comes with an air-cooled single-cylinder OHC motor. This four-stroke motor features 97.2cc of engine displacement that produces 8.36 PS of power and 8.05 Nm of torque. The engine also comes with an Advanced Programmed Fuel Injection system and i3S (engine start/stop) that improves fuel efficiency. The engine comes with a 4-speed transmission and a wet multi-plate clutch. While the HF Deluxe features a Kick and Self-start, the HF100 misses out on the Self Starter and only comes with a kick-starter.

Mechanical Bits

The Hero MotoCorp HF100 features a Tubular Double Cradle similar to the HF Deluxe and the same suspension system. The front gets telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers and the rear features 2-step adjustable hydraulic twin shock absorbers. The motorcycle also gets 130mm mechanical drum brakes on both the front and rear, similar to the HF Deluxe. Another similarity is the wheels and tyres, the HF100 comes with 18-inch alloy wheels in black finish shod in 2.75 x 18 tyres.

Features

The Hero HF100 comes with features such as black powder-coated trim instead of chrome bits seen on the HF Deluxe. The motorcycle features a smaller 9.1-litre fuel tank compared to a 9.6-litre tank on the HF Deluxe. But in terms of dimensions, both motorcycles remain the same. The HF100 also comes with a multifaceted reflector headlamp, black finish handlebar, black finish forks and rims, a steel tube pillion grabrail in a black finish, black finish exhaust heat shield, etc. This has helped Hero keep the price competitive even after the price hike that the brand made to keep up with the rise in input costs.
