Hero MotoCorp could be planning to introduce a new commuter motorcycle in the Indian market. Spyshots of a new motorcycle have emerged on the internet which leads us to believe that the brand could soon launch the bike here. According to reports, the new commuter motorcycle is likely to be the update to the Hero HF Dawn, however the motorcycle is likely to come with plenty of changes during its refresh.
The test mule that was spotted testing earlier had a rounded headlamp unit, but a new modern and sleeker pillion grab rail. The updated motorcycle is also likely to come with alloy wheels instead of spoke wheels, that were offered on the yesteryears HF Dawn. However, some details such as the instruments cluster housing is likely to remain similar to the outgoing model.
However, we speculate that the inner workings on the instruments cluster could be different than the old model. The spy shot also does not offer a frontal view of the test mule and it is likely that the higher spec version of the bike may get an LED unit. The taillamp unit also appears to be similar to the old HF Dawn but the inner reflectors are likely to be new.
Powering the HF Dawn was the 97.2cc single cylinder air cooled engine which produces 8.2 Hp of power and 8 nm of torque matched to a 4-speed gearbox. The upcoming model is also likely to come with the same engine however, the tuning is likely to be slightly different. Spyshots also reveal that the test mule gets telescopic front fork suspension and dual shock absorbers on the rear. Along with this the commuter motorcycle is also likely to come with drum brakes on both end with a combo braking system.
Expect the new affordable Hero commuter motorcycle to come with a price tag of under the INR 1 lakh ex-showroom.
