Hero Electric has announced its target of acquiring 1,000 sales touchpoints by the end of FY2022. As one of India’s largest electric two-wheeler manufacturers, the company aims to open 300 new sales touchpoints. The decision comes courtesy of the rising demand for EVs along with consumer-friendly policies from the central and state governments. Other factors contributing towards the decision are better infrastructure along with heightened awareness and adoption of EVs among the masses.
The rapid expansion of electric two-wheeler manufacturers will lead towards a projected growth of 20% in the next five years. Hero Electric has announced plans to expand its production capacity to double its current sales in comparison to the previous year’s figure. The brand witnessed a positive Q2 across its 700+ sales and service networks spread across 500+ cities in India. Thanks to the rising demand, interest has piqued amongst the entrepreneurs and seasoned dealers from the automotive industry.
The individuals also wish to set up Hero Electric dealerships across remote towns and near highways in India for increased footfall. For its ‘comfort-speed’ segment, the brand offers the Atria and Flash, whereas its ‘city-speed’ features the Optima HX and NYX HX. The four two-wheelers continue to be the brand’s most affordable EVs in the segment, catering towards a multitude of rider requirements.
By having over 4 lakh e-scooters on the road, Hero Electric has sustained its dealerships despite the pandemic. Utilizing thoughtful initiatives, the company ensured the wellness and safety of its employees by organizing various sessions. These included training for Mental health, Yoga, and Digital Sales in order for employees to maintain their confidence. This has also enabled employees to constantly engage with the company, even during the lockdown, for added productivity.
