Hero Electric has today unveiled 3 new electric two-wheelers for the Indian market. These bikes will be launched in 2018 in a phased manner. While one product was the high-speed e-bike codenamed as AXLHE-20, the other two were e-bicycles named A2B Speed & Kuo Boost.
Hero Electric has marked 10 years of manufacturing electric two-wheelers in India and has launched over 15 products in the past decade. The brand currently has 65% market share in the electric two-wheeler market. With these new products, Hero Electric plans to double their sales in the next 5 years.
The AXLHE-20 is a high-speed e-bike which is powered by a 4,000 Watt motor which produces peak power of 6,000 Watts. This e-bike can achieve a top speed of 85 kmph and will run up to 110 km on a single charge. The Lithium Ion batter on this product can be charged from 0-100% in around 4 hours and also features regenerative braking.
A2B is a UK-based electric bicycle-making subsidiary of Hero Electric and this product, A2B Speed is powered by a 500 Watt motor. The 36 volt battery will be durable enough to handle 700 full charging cycles and will provide a range of 70 km with a top speed of 45 kmph. The A2B Speed comes with an aluminium frame, 8-speed Shimano XT rear derailleur transmission and Tektro Dorado hydraulic disc brakes.
The A2B Kuo Boost is powered by a 350 Watt motor and has a top speed of 32 kmph. The battery can offer up to 60 km of range per charge and will last for 700 charging cycles. The frame of the Kuo Boost is made from aluminium and weighs just 20 kg. This is a fordable electric bicycle and offers an 8-speed Shimano Derailleur gearbox.
