Hero Electric offers INR 5,000 discount on online purchase

One of India’s leading electric vehicle brand Hero Electric has announced to offer a flat INR 5000 cash discount across its entire range while an INR 3000 cash discount on Glyde push scooter and Velocity E-Cycle. The offer is valid only for online bookings made between 17th April 2020 and 15th May 2020.

The brand has fixed a non-refundable booking amount of INR 2,999 which is refundable in case the lockdown is extended beyond June. The deliveries of the electric scooters can be taken anytime after the lockdown opens until the end of June. In addition to the above cash discount, cash benefits of INR 1000 are also offered to existing customers for reference purchase.

The Hero Electric product portfolio includes Flash, Nyx, Optima, Photon, Flash, Dash and also the ER (Extended Range) variants which include the Optima ER and Nyx ER along with Glyde and E-Cycle.

Hero Electric’s Extended Range (ER) which includes the Optima ER and the Nyx ER is powered by two 48V/28AH lithium-ion batteries but the Optima ER comes with a 550W/1200W Brushless DC (BLDC) electric motor and the Nyx ER is powered by a 600W/1300W BLDC electric motor mounted in the hub of the two-wheeler.

Both the Optima ER and the Nyx ER can do a top speed of 42 kmph but the Optima ER claims to have a range of 110 km while the Nyx ER claims a range of 100 km on a single charge. The extended range on the Optima ER is likely to be due to its 83 kg weight as compared to the 87 kg weight of the Nyx ER.

In terms of design and styling, the Optima ER comes with a more conventional commuter scooter design while the Nyx ER features an extended footboard and has a more utilitarian design. Both electric scooters come with alloy wheels, under-seat storage compartments and telescopic front suspension.

By offering discounts on the electric range of scooters Hero Electric wants to make an effort to nudge the country towards a cleaner, eco-friendly and zero pollution transportation.
