Hero Electric maintains leadership in two-wheeler EV sales in 2020

Hero Electric, which is India’s largest electric two-wheeler company retains the top spot in two-wheeler EV sales in 2020. The company claims to sell close to 50,000 electric two-wheelers last year. Hero Electric is also improving its dealership network across the country and currently, there are a total of 600 touch points spread across 500 towns and cities in the country. This makes Hero Electric’s service network the widest of all the electric two-wheeler manufacturers in the country.

Popular Models Of Hero Electric

Fully committed to the ‘No Emission’ mission, the company is investing heavily to develop innovative mobility solutions for the Indian market. Currently of all the products, the most popular models include Optima and Nyx. To meet the growing demand for electric two-wheelers in the Indian market which will further increase in the upcoming years, Hero Electric is planning to expand its production capacity from an existing 70,000 units to more than 2.5 lakh units. To cater to the demand in the East Indian market, the company recently opened a new hub in Patna which has a capacity to stock close to 2,500 scooters. Hero Electric understands how important it is to build a robust and wide charging infrastructure which is the most important aspect which helps in pushing customers to opt for electric vehicles over their fuel-powered counterparts. In the 2020-21 period, Hero Electric added over 1,500 charging stations, and by 2022, the company plans to set up over 20,000 charging points across the country.
