Hero Electric launches ‘City Speed’ Optima-Hx, Nyx-Hx, & Photon-Hx starting INR 57,560

One of India’s leading electric mobility company, Hero Electric has launched a new segment in their electric scooter portfolio. The new segment is dubbed ‘City Speed’ and is aptly developed for city commuters. The City Speed E-Bikes have been optimised to offer a higher cruising speed and comes with a gradeability allowing the e-scooter to easily ride up city slopes and flyovers. The brand has launched three e-Bikes in this segment, that is Optima-Hx, Nyx-Hx, and Photon-Hx with a starting price of INR 57,560. All three City Speed e-Bikes are available is more than 500 Hero Electric dealerships across the country. It is also important to note that In some places like Delhi there will an additional subsidy to further bring down the prices.

With the new City Speed range, the brand intends to reduce the total cost of ownership for the customer by providing affordable electric solutions. The range of electric bikes from Hero Electric also help make the environment greener and pollution-free, killing two birds with one stone. The eco-friendly e-scooters are also in-line with the Govt. of India’s push towards electric mobility in the country to reduce the consumption of oil and oil import. Hero Electric offers both lightweight City Speed scooters as well as the high-speed performance scooters for both first-time buyers and electric scooter enthusiasts. The new range of e-scooters comes with a driving range from 70 km to 200 km. 

In the recent past, the company announced that Hero Electric already commands a market share of 45% in the balance category of electric two-wheelers giving it the top position in the electric two-wheeler segment. The brand has reported that even during the COVID-19 pandemic, the company has reported that it engaged with over 40,000 customers resulting in a six-fold increase in its online sales over the previous year within in the first four months of 2020-21.
