Hero Electric & BOLT to set up 50,000 EV Charging Stations

Hero Electric has announced its partnership with Bolt. Together they aim to set up over 50,000 EV charging stations across the country. Bolt mentioned that they would set up chargers at 750+ Hero Electric’s touchpoints, thus benefiting over 4.5 lakh customers. In addition to this, over 2,000+ Hero Electric riders will avail themselves of free cost Bolt charging units at their home. The increase in fuel prices is pushing a lot of people to opt for electric vehicles. Initiatives like these go a long way in boosting EV adoption and encouraging mass electrification.

Bolt And Hero To Work In Synergy

As a part of this initiative, Bolt and Hero will aim to achieve their shared goal of providing a robust, affordable, and accessible EV charging infrastructure. Furthermore, Bolt will be integrated with the Hero Electric App and website. This will offer the riders a one-stop solution for locating a charging station, booking a slot, and payment. In addition to this, a subscription-based model is also in the plan for Hero Electric riders to ease their usage. B2B partners can leverage Hero Electric and Bolt’s IoT based pilot tracking solution. This will provide Fleet Management and Charging Management solutions to all Hero Electric B2B partners.

Bolt Charing Network

Given the rising demand for electric vehicles, it is equally important to set up a viable charging infrastructure. Bolt, along with a host of other electric mobility companies, is increasingly adding more chargers to their network. Bolt claims that it is India’s first dedicated network of IoT-enabled EV charging points connecting riders across the country.

As of now, over 10,000 BOLT charging points have already been installed across 100 different cities in India. The charging capacity reads as 33000 KW with over 50,00 active users. The target for the next 6 months is to increase the charging points to 1,00,000 units. Bolt makes use of a universal charging point which is compatible with any portable charger that comes with EVs and works with the existing AC power supply everywhere.
