Great Wall Motor’s, Haval has showcased the Haval F7 SUV and the Haval F7x which is a Gran Tourismo styled model based on the F7 SUV, at the Auto Expo 2020. Haval is a marquee owned by the Chinese carmaker Great Wall Motors and the Haval brand specialises in making SUVs and other utility vehicles. The Haval F7 is likely to contest with the Hyundai Tucson facelift upon launch in the Indian market.
On the exterior, the Haval F7 features a chrome-accented imposing grille, quad beam LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, rounded fog lights on the bumper with triangular black inserts, a faux skid plate and muscular character lines on the bonnet. When viewed from the profile the F7 gets 19-inch alloy wheels, rounded wheel arches and chrome finish on the window sills. The F7x, on the other hand, when viewed from the profile, has a sloping coupe-like roofline but retains other design elements from the F7. Both the F7 and the F7x come with the same LED tail light unit and the similar bumper with faux exhaust tips and skid plate.
On the interior, both the F7 and the F7x feature dual-tone interiors, a fully-digital colour instruments display, multifunctional flat-bottomed steering wheel, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, panoramic sunroof, sporty drive select lever on the central tunnel etc. The pushbutton controls and the infotainment system appear very driver-oriented giving a cockpit effect to it.
Powering the Haval F7 and the F7x is a 1.5-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine that makes 150 hp of power and 280 Nm of torque also a more powerful 2.0-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol that produces 190 hp of power and 340 Nm of torque will be available. Both the engines come mated to 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
In terms of safety, the F7 and the F7x will get front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Programme, roll-over mitigation, forward collision alert system along with other automotive-standard safety features.
Both the Haval F7 and the F7x will come in a 5-seat layout and are expected to be launched by the end of 2021 or early 2022.
