Harley Davidson announces the launch of Sportster S for India at the 2021 India Bike Week. The company has put on a sticker price of INR 15.51 lakh (ex-showroom) for this motorcycle. The Sportster S is already available in the international market. This motorcycle is dubbed as one of the most advanced cruisers by the American motorcycle company.
One thing is for sure, this motorcycle is a certain crowd puller. The design is very eccentric, and onlookers will want to keep admiring the motorcycle as long as they can. Customers planning to buy one will have three colour options to choose from the same as the ones offered in the US market. These are Vivid Black, Midnight Crimson, and Stone Washed White Pearl. The bookings for this motorcycle are already open, and deliveries are set to begin later this month.
Harley Davidson Sportster S – A Brief Overview
The motorcycle uses a 1250cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. This same engine does the duty in the very competent Pan America 1250 adventure-touring motorcycle. Although, Harley Davidson has tweaked the engine to match the Sportster ‘S’ character. The performance figure of the motorcycle stands at 119.3 BHP and 127.4 Nm. The equipped gearbox is a 6-speed unit. In the rider aid package, the motorcycle gets four riding modes, keyless ignition, navigation, lean-sensitive traction control, all-LED lighting, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system and cornering ABS. The four riding modes are Road, Sport, Rain and Custom.
With the help of a TFT LCD screen, the rider will get all the important riding information and statistics. The key highlights design elements include the distinctively designed headlamp, short fender, high-set exhausts and a single seat. Supporting the chassis of this motorcycle is a fully adjustable USD fork at the front and a mono-shock at the rear. Braking power comes from a 320mm disc and a four-piston, radial monoblock Brembo calliper for the front. Meanwhile, for the rear, it gets a two-piston Brembo calliper and a 260mm disc.
