Harley-Davidson has unveiled the 2022 iteration of the Low Rider S. Alongside this, the motorcycle maker has also revealed the all-new Low Rider ST. This is a new motorcycle in the portfolio that shares a lot with the Low Rider S. Starting off with the Low Rider S, which was also in the Harley-Davidson India portfolio, and for the 2022 update, there are only a few changes. The fuel tank mounted instrument cluster now misses out on a cleaner look. Other than this, there’s no other aesthetic update. Although, we do have an update in the mechanical department, the motorcycle now gets a Milwaukee 117 engine, replacing the previous 114 unit.
Powering the Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST is the same engine as the Lower Rider S, i.e. the Milwaukee 117 engine. The equipped gearbox is a 6-speed unit. The performance figure stands at 104 BHP and 170 Nm. The motorcycle gets a bagger-like styling with a batwing fairing and a pair of hard-case panniers. The ST trim differentiates itself from the S trim with the use of an aerodynamically-designed frame-mounted fairing and dual lockable hard-case saddlebags. In terms of kit, both the motorcycle do miss out on some features. The key highlighting ones include a semi-digital cluster or an LCD on the ST, dual-channel ABS and a USB charging port. Braking power comes from disc set up both at the front and rear. Supporting the chassis is are 43mm inverted single-cartridge forks on the front and a mono-shock unit with preload adjustment on the rear end.
Both the Low Rider S and Low Rider ST will arrive in India by mid-2022. Once launched, the motorcycles will go head to head with the Indian Chief Dark Horse. In the UK market, the Low Rider S retails at GBP 17,795, which converts to INR 17.9 lakhs. Meanwhile, the ST variant has a sticker price of GBP 19,395, which is close to INR 19.5 lakhs.
