Harley-Davidson launches Deluxe & Low Rider in India

Harley-Davidson India has launched two new Softail range of motorcycles as they enter their 115th anniversary year. The Harley-Davidson Low Rider & Deluxe were launched in India and add to the previous Softail models launched in October 2017. The Softail Low Rider has been priced at INR 12.99 lakh while the Softail Deluxe asks for INR 17.99 lakh.

Powering the Softail Low Rider & Deluxe is a 1,745cc, Milwaukee-Eight 107, V-Twin cylinder motor producing 144 Nm of peak torque @ 3000 RPM and is matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The new Softail range is based on a new chassis which is more rigid, yet lighter than before. This results in better lean angles, sharper turn-in, better acceleration & easy flickability. Also, since the weight is down, the side-stand lift off is easier than before.

The new frame is 65% stiffer than the older model leading to 34% overall chassis stiffness. The frame has also seen 50% reduction in component parts and 22% reduction in welds. The chassis is now 15% lighter on the wide one while the narrow chassis has shaved 20% weight. New suspension on the bikes results in better damping and performance. With 130mm of travel, it is suitable for cruising as well as enthusiastic riding.

Low Rider features:

  • 70s custom chopper design
  • Dual tank mount speedo console and tachometer
  • Old school headlamp, visor & decals on tankhead
  • 19″ front & 16″ rear cast rims
