Harley-Davidson Iron 883 launched in India at INR 9.26 lakh

Harley-Davidson has launched the 2020 Model Year Iron 883 in India at the price of 9.26 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi. The 2020 Iron 883 comes with revised styling with a dark custom theme and has a crude stripped-down styling. The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 comes with four colour themes – Black Denim, Baracuda Silver Denim, River Rock Grey and Scorched Orange/Silver Flux.

The Iron 883 is powered by an 883cc Air-cooled V-Twin Evolution engine with a 76.2mm bore and 96.8mm stroke with a 9:1 compression ratio. The carburetion is through an Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI) and the engine generates 70 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM matched to a 5-speed gearbox. Though the brand has not mentioned it on the website the engine is assumed to be BS6 emissions compliant.

In terms of styling, the 2020 Iron 883 comes with a retro anti-chrome theme and features chopped fenders, black powder-coated engine, black rocker covers, round air cleaner cover finished in black, black front forks with gaiters, black side panels, a single black seat with tuck and roll pleated upholstery for that old school charm, 9-spoke black alloy wheels with machine-finished accents, black exhaust headers & black tapered mufflers and a low rise drag-style handlebar finished in black.

The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 measures 2,185mm in length with a 1,515mm of the wheelbase, 140mm of ground clearance and a 760mm low seat height that enables the rider to have complete control over the 247 kg motorcycle. In terms of hardware, the Iron 883 comes with conventional telescopic forks at the front and spring type twin shock absorber on the rear. Braking power comes from disc brakes with dual-piston callipers on both the wheels.

Harley-Davidson offers an overabundance of features and products when it comes to customisation which includes LED headlight options, seats, sissy bars, gas caps, handlebars, rear-view mirrors, a front brake master cylinder integrated fuel gauge kit, detachable racks, engine trims and performance upgrades such as shocks, air-cleaners and exhausts from Screaming Eagle.
