Taiwan based electric mobility company Gogoro has unveiled its products in the Indian market. The ultimate selling point of the new electric scooter is its swappable battery design. Along with the electric scooters the brand is also launching its battery swapping ecosystem. Gogoro has introduced its Crossover series scooters for the Indian market which are all made in India.
Gogoro CrossOver Series
Gogoro reveals that the CrossOver series features an all-terrain chassis made in India, made for India. The brand is offering three models – CrossOver GX250, CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S. The all-terrain frame boasts a combination of durability, comfort and even customisation capabilities with load bearing capacity up to 200 kg.
Gogoro CrossOver GX250 – All-Terrain Chassis
The brand emphasises on frame rigidity, strength and stability. Also, the smartscooters boast a ground clearance of 176 mm which claims to be the highest in Gogoro’s vehicle line-up. The all-terrain frame also claims to reduce the impact taken by the suspension system thus improving its longevity.
Gogoro CrossOver GX250 – Availability in India
Gogoro also revealed that orders for the Gogoro GX 250 are now open with deliveries beginning in 2024. In addition to this the brand also revealed that in the initial stage the availability will be limited to B2B customers in Delhi and Goa. In the later stage, which is the first half of 2024 the brand will roll out the Smartscooter in Mumbai and Pune. Consumer availability is expected from second quarter of 2024.
Gogoro CrossOver GX250 – Technical Specifications and Features
Powering the Gogoro CrossOver GX250 electric scooter is a 2.5 kW Direct Drive motor. The motor is capable of providing a top speed of 60+ kmph. Also, Gogoro claims a certified range of 111 km on a single charge. The Gogoro CrossOver series scooters also get LED lights and a digital instruments cluster. The e-scooter also gets disc brakes on both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System).
Gogoro CrossOver GX250 – Cargo Carrying Capacity
The Gogoro CrossOver GX250 also come with mounting point expansion system which includes 26 locking points. The GX250 also has multiple cargo areas which include foot, seat and rear cargo space. The rear seat is modular and is removable. The seat can also be flipped up to carry additional load.
Gogoro CrossOver Series – Manufacturing and Certification
The Gogoro Crossover series scooters are manufactured in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) Maharashtra in India. The Gogoro CrossOver GX25o is also certified by India’s International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT). Gogoro is also the first foreign manufacturer to be recognised by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI).
