Electric mobility company, Ather Energy is planning to introduce a new Ather 450 Apex electric scooter. The brand has released a new teaser which shows patrons testing the new Ather scooter around a circuit possibly in Bengaluru. Speculations are that the new Ather 450 Apex will be the fastest Ather in the line-up. Hearsay is that it almost feels like a motorcycle, leading us to believe that Ather might have tweaked the handling characteristics as well. However, technical details on the 450 Apex are still scarce.
Ather 450 Apex – Platform
The Ather 450 Apex will be based on the brand’s tried and tested 450 Platform. Having said that, we expect that the brand is likely to offer a more powerful motor and battery. The 450 Apex is also likely to come with improved range and top speed. The 0-40 km timing is also likely to improve on the Ather 450 Apex as compared to the 450x. The Ather 450 Apex is also likely to come with some design tweaks to offers its customers a fresh and distinctive look.
Ather 450 Apex – Technical Speculation
The Ather 450X which is currently the brand’s flagship scooter comes with a 6.4 kW/26 Nm electric motor. The electric motor is coupled to a 3.7 kWh battery pack which offers a range of around 150 km on a single charge. The powerful motor is also capable of accelerating the e-scooter from 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds. The 450X can also touch a top speed of 90 kmph. The 450 Apex is likely to come with a larger battery pack and motor capable of a higher top speed and acceleration.
Ather 450 Apex – Launch Dates
Ather is likely to launch the new 450 Apex sometime next year. We expect that the brand is likely to share more details by the end of this year. The brand is also celebrating 10 years since its inception at IIT-Madras in 2013. Ather Energy has also posted a YouTube video showcasing its decade long throwback.
