Free Foam Wash by Nissan India on World Water Day 2021

In order to observe World Water Day, Nissan India is offering ‘Free Foam Wash Service’ for all its customer at all Nissan and Datsun service centres across India. Nissan claims that with the use of this technique, washing on an average of 1200 cars, they are able to save 86,400 litres of water per day.

Nissan India’s Water Saving Initiative

The foam wash technique also reduces the water consumption by 45 per cent and in return increases the gloss and shine in cars by 38 per cent. The conventional method of car wash consumes a staggering 162 litres per car and by utilizing this foam-wash technique since 2014, Nissan claims to save close to 15 million litres of water. The company also mentioned that the customers can also opt for ‘Dry Wash’ which saves 100% of water. In fact, the manufacturing facility in Oragadam Chennai is also set up with a host of water-conserving equipment which helps in the conservation of high volumes of water. The use of 3 rainwater harvesting ponds with a 1.6 kilolitre rainwater storage capacity can meet the demand of the plant for 80 days. Rainwater harvesting is one of the common and easiest ways of conversing water and Nissan India is making full use of this technique which saves more than 75 per cent of the plant’s total freshwater requirements.

Nissan’s Plans For India

With the current launch of the Magnite, the Japanese car manufacturer is making a huge impact in the Indian automotive market. The compact SUV is witnessing a lot of positive feedback from the customers. Within just 5 days from the launch, Nissan Magnite bagged 5,000 bookings with over 50,000 enquiries. The Magnite is available with multiple variants with optional feature packs which do make it one of the most value-for-money offerings in the segment. Nissan is offering multiple engines and gearbox options which is helping to target a larger audience. After receiving a price hike of INR 30,000, currently, the range of Magnite starts at INR 5.49 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base XE trim meanwhile the top-spec dual-tone XV trim with the automatic gearbox has a sticker price of INR 9.59 lakh (ex-showroom).
